Landfill Check is a read-only lookup of public data. We collect as little as possible.

What we collect

• Analytics:anonymous usage events (searches, page views, clicks) via PostHog, hosted in the EU. We don't build profiles of identified individuals; postcodes you search are recorded as event data, not linked to you.
• Email addresses you actively submit (alerts or surveyor interest) — stored securely, used only for the stated purpose, never sold. One email to unsubscribe.
• Form submissions (error reports, API enquiries) are processed by Formspree and emailed to us.

What we don't do

• No advertising identifiers beyond Google AdSense's own, if ads are shown.
• No sale or sharing of personal data.

People in the dataset

The EA dataset includes historical operator and licence-holder names and addresses, some of which relate to sole traders. We republish these as received from the Environment Agency. If a record concerns you personally and you want it reviewed, use the report-an-error link on the page or email us and we'll assess removal.
